Respecting Nature

I’m just totally in awe of Nature. It’s magical. I’m also in total awe of the scientists who have revealed what they have so far about it. Whatever our thoughts on how life came to be, we must surely share one thought which is we must stop fighting against Nature. Let’s preserve life the natural way. Let’s give Nature the total priority it deserves. Let’s prioritize it when we live in our homes, when we do our work, when we talk with those around us, and especially when we talk with our kids. We all have different motives for wanting to respect Nature. Of late for me, it was seeing a scientist moved to tears as he described being on a coastal island in Antarctica where 400 Adelie penguins were left when he’d once been used to seeing 20,000 there; penguins for as far as your eye could see, once upon a time, but no longer in that place. For some of you, it will be the experience of great loss through climate-change-related intense weather. I think we all see things or have them happen to us in relation to Nature being messed with, and our heads tell us far worse is on the way. The things we see now are just a hint of what will follow. The weeping scientist described the Adelie penguins as an indicator species, that they are telling us the world is changing, getting warmer. Scientists say we have a chance, right now, of stopping things from getting worse. I hope you’ll find my picture ebooks, which will become a series called ‘Saving the planet with TACO’, a nice addition to your family discussions about living your best version of respecting Nature.
